A visit to Liverpool Cathedral for the 3pm Coral evensong on Saturday 14th March 2009. Only caught part of the rehersals as the stewards kept telling me off for filming, but non the less it is a good view of the buildings interior if you are thinking of visiting the largest Anglican Cathedral in Britain and one of the great buildings of the twentieth century. The massive tower stands over the city as a symbol of faith in God amidst the bustle of the modern world.

  • Nigel, I just wanted to say thanks for posting this video. I am an ex chorister now living in Melbourne, Australia. I certainly do miss this place. It was like a second home to me for seven years of my life. but after watching your video it brough it all back to me. Thanks for your persistence with the verger. Well Done. Dave G.

  • Hi Dossy12,

I fell in love with the place the first time I walked in ! that was about 17 years ago now - I am glad I bought it all back to you, just as long as you were not too upset. Most people love the Cathedral.

  • That was a great Video there that building was just fab!! The Organ I bet rocked the place? Why was the "Steward" being bossy about "Photography" for??

  • Hi Rob, Thanks for the positive comments and rating, it was only 2nd time to use the Cam. I think the the problem with photos in cathedral was two things: 1: It was a rehersal. and 2: I think the rule mainly applies during services to "flash" photography. There are videos on YouTube of the organ and it being played. CD's and books on the organ can be purchased at the Cathedral shop. It is the largest organ in Europe. Built by Henry Willis & Sons.

  • @dossy12 Dossy - is that you who went to St Margaret's with me???!! Ken

  • When I visited I asked the guy on the door if I could use video and he just said 'Put a quid in the box.' Got caught by a minor canon with stills cameras and lenses all over the floor above the Lady Chapel and no photo permit. All he said was 'Great int it'. Never been is such a friendly cathedral
