  • how much should i apply to be spf 30 effective on my face? i usually use a pea size amount for my whole face. another pea size amount for my neck, another for my decollete. is that enough?

  • @themonstera To be effective, sunscreen must be applied liberally to all exposed skin. An average sized body (in a swimsuit) requires about 1oz for full and complete coverage. The FDA tests sunscreen efficacy using 2 miligrams of sunscreen per square centimeter of skin. The average human body is 18,000 square centimeters. By our calculations this means 1.2oz of sunscreen would adequately cover an entire human body. Rub it in to reduce the whitening effect. :)

  • Hi do the oil base ingrediants in the sunblock burn in the sun I always thought ur not suppose. I don't like tanning I'm pretty fair and when I tan I burn. Is this really the best

  • @killerchipmunkattack no worries! We're just sticklers for these kinds of things :) If you look on the back to the tube, the "Drug Facts" panel tells you that it's FDA approved - that's how you can know for the future! Thanks for using our sunscreen, and if you ever have any questions, feel free to write us or give us a call - we're happy to help anytime! :)

  • @badgerbalm Oh I'm sorry, I really didn't know badger balm sunscreen was FDA-approved, although i knew its ingredient zinc oxide was FDA-approved. I actually haf started using badger sunscreen more and recommending it to friends more after recently finding it uses truly non-nano zinc oxide (>100nm), most other zinc oxide sunscreens are claimed to be non-nano but their zinc oxide turns out to be smaller than 100nm. Plus the olive oil and vitamin E seems to do wonders for my skin :)

  • @killerchipmunkattack @killerchipmunkattack Hi there! Yes, we are FDA approved - we even conform to the FDA sunscreen standards that will be mandatory this summer! We've been independently tested for UVA/UVB protection, water resistance, and we've also been tested to be compliant in the EU and Japan. In fact, all claims on our package are backed by 3rd party testing - it's just the kind of folks we are :) You can find all sorts of info on our website!

  • @wdashwor Yeah but it hasn't got FDA approved, and I'm not sure if its even got independently tested by any other reputable organisation. Personally I'd only use it for small sun exposure, like if i gonna be indoors most of day. But if ure outdoors for at least half an hr, I think maybe u should use something else. Just my opinion, if u wanna be super careful about ur skin.

If any1 knows of badger balm sunscreen got independent organisation that certifyed its effectiveness, pls tell :)

  • Good information - I have just started using the unscented spf 30. It looks like it's going to be a very good product. I like the list of natural ingredients.
