  • Well from what ive read dwarf angels are like clownfish in a way. The young fish like under an 1inch or smaller are female, and the lager older fish turn into males if no other domanate male is around. So im guessing mines a male ive had it for 2 years now. I feed it a mix of prime reef, both the green and the meat, ummm some frozen mysis angelfish mix, and whatever it eats off the rocks. It took me about a week before it started eating but now is a pig, Very easy fish to keep =D

  • sounds good. ive always had capitve grown xenias so that is probably why they do so good. I would wait a few months before I put more than maybe mushrooms and zoos in your tank. Those corals are almost indestuctible lol. Cant wait to see your vid on here!!

  • xenias, very easy to care for. they grow like a weed. i sell them all the time because they grow to fast. im finally getting the algea down so the tank is coming back. my skimmer broke and my phosphates got high...so lol yeah. but thanks for the great complemint!! thanks :) hope to see your new t5's soon

  • Does your coral beauty eat hair algae because I have a little and I read that they eat hair algae do they???

  • wow that is some hair algae

  • Your coral beauty is stunning!!!

    check out my tank!

  • beautiful tank - beautiful fish!

I'm getting one of these fish for my attention peice, my tank is no where near as big as yours, but big enough to house one of these. :)

do you mind if i ask some questions:

How do you tell the gender?

    What do you feed yours?

Was it hard to get it to feed on what you want?

    thats all :)

    thanks!

  • dude does xenia corals must be under the power head right? because I have a 20 gallon fish tank nano with 2 power heads?

  • oh definitely! I'm not going to go crazy with like sps or anything...I'm just going to stick with LPS, softies, shrooms, n colony corals...they seem the hardiest n the buy at my lfs gave me some great tips n tricks of the trade =P

  • cool because I saw some "expert only" xenias so idk... but I found some metal halides with a built in fan for cheaper than the t5 unit I was planning on getting so I'll probably just go with that.
