I'm a veteran myself and using the Post 9/11 GI Bill. Any service member that has served after 9/11/01 can qualify for the Post 9/11 GI Bill. Just have to switch from Montgomery GI Bill to the 9/11 GI Bill. If he tapped into the Montgomery GI Bill he might be out of luck. They'll even give vets a 2nd chance for the Post 9/11 GI Bill that didn't pay into it on the initial enlistment. But I also agree that any vet that served our country, NO MATTER THE SEPARATION PERIOD, SHOULD QUALIFY FOR 9/11 GI
