This is my 9 year old son singing Missing Pieces by Mark Leland.

My son has autism,Cerebral Palsy and is completely blind.

My son and his sister mean the world to my husband and I. we are very proud of both of them.

Within the last couple years our son has started to blossom. He can now answer a few questions, walks with and without his leg braces everywhere! although he can walk without his braces he still has a lot of problems walking correctly , we have faith that before long he will walk 100% correctly without them ( with a flat foot) He is now eatting dinner with us everynight and eatting what we eat( He used to eat only a handful of things)

He is starting to grasp things with his hands more and more tightly everyday!

We are working everyday with him teaching him how to feed himself , hold his head up( neck is weak) as well as teaching him day to day life skills.

A lot of people in the world takes the simple things in life forgranted. Watching my son and daughter blossom I have learned to not take anything for granted. From the simple small task of holding my head up to the big task of walking in a room by yourself.

One of his favirot thing to do is learn a new song and sing it. he may not get every word correct but it sure sounds perfect to us!

I hope you enjoy my sunushine singing

  • GREAT JOB SINGING A GREAT SONG!!My son at age 3 couldn't say 5 words and now at age 5 talks all the time and also loves to sing!!Loves Christmas songs even the 2nd verse!!!Anyway. GREAT JOB AND KEEP ROCKIN THE YOU TUBE!!!God Bless / Deno--Illinois

  • Thank you so much. This song has became such a big part of our lives and Dallas just loves it and smiles and smiles and smiles when he sings it!!! Dallas also could not speak much except "mocking" for years and years and then out of the blue he just started speaking more. Sometimes he still totally shuts down but he can answer simple questions now and will surprise us out of the blue. He can sing ALL of mark's songs and is his biggest fan!!! He hears them once or twice and then knows them!.

  • How beautiful. I am the mom of a 6 yo autistic boy. His verbal skills are only at 2 1/2 yo but he was completely mute.

I think this just goes to show that with God and parental love and devotion we can overcome anything.

  • You are so right. EVERYTHING is possiable with God. we are so blessed to have our children in our lives they teach us so much.

  • What a star! After reading watching the video, I fully believe that your son was meant to be with you. My son is autistic and at age 2 we were told he would never speak. Now at age 6, he is in primary 1 on-time, loving doing homework everynight and we have to ask him to stop asking questions (sometimes) just for a "verbal break"!!!

The point is, with love you can move mountains and you are obviously making huge gains with your son and I applaud you for that. You & your husband are stars!!

  • Thank you so much. We have learned really fast Dr's do not know everything!! Everyday he surprises us as I am sure your son does also!!

  • Awesome. My 7 year old son has aspergers and my 6 year old daughter is on the spectrum.

  • AWESOME....Made me cry...IF he can do this..WHAT ELSE can your little star accomplish? This goes out to all parents....our kids (no matter how closed in) are IN THERE!...go find them. They reach out via music..grab them and live the song.

Each child is, and will be, an inspiration. I'm very proud to say i'm the father of an autistic boy who's breaking ALL the misconceptions and providing inspiration for all some mums and dads of newly diagnised children.

    NEVER GIVE UP.!!!!!!!!!

  • You go Mum. Just goes to show that the power of love, mountains do move. I am the father of an autistic boy who at 2, we were told would never speak.....now at 6, has entered primary 1 on time and we can't keep him quiet! Your children were meant to be with you. They are blessed to have a mother and father that will move mountains for them. Great video!

  • I love this!!!
