"Star of India", with Jeff Fenholt on vocals. This song would eventually become "Seventh Star". Enjoy!

  • Well this will re-write a whole chapter on Joe Siegler's excellant Black Sabbath site. For a demo it actually sounds quite good. That goes to show how excellant a guitarist Iommi really is. Cheers to my fellow Sabbath fans!

  • Not really. Fenholt was never in Sabbath. Remember that Seventh Star was initially an Iommi solo project. Fenholt's contributions can be debated with regards to that solo endeavor, but not whether or not he was in Sabbath...because he wasn't.

Besides...Seigler already knew about these tracks; I'm not posting anything an extreme diehard Sabbath fan wouldn't already know about...it's just that some have never heard them.

  • This demo is pure gold. I just wish they'd do something like AC/DC's Bonfire when they release a bunch of demos on a CD, except for Black Sabbath.

  • ahhh, the Jeff Fenholt "days" of Black Sabbath. Fenholt officially was never a member of Black Sabbath. Fenholt later became a televangelist and denounced Rock music ans said it was the work of the devil. Although he is a distinguished vocalist, I do not like him personally. He comes across as a bit of a maniac at times. It's like he is telling himself that he never was associated with Sabbath just bc of his position now. I'm glad he folded b/c Glenn Hughes fucking ruled that album, really!!

  • absolutely!

  • To me Fenholt sounds like an amazing singer with an incredible reach, so shut up and listen!

  • C'mon y'all! Fenholt's not a prick and he's not acting like he was "never with Sabbath because of his current position". I've met Jeff and he's a great guy. Now unless you consider session recordings to mean that some artist was "with" the band, then Jeff was never "with" Sabbath. However, Jeff ALWAYS says how much he respects Iommi and how he truly enjoyed his time working with him and what a great artist Iommi is. So please quit hatin', y'all ok? What good does it ever do to hate? Hate Satan!

  • such a powerful voice...I'm thinking why didn't he do something along these lines instead of the watered down AC type of Christian music. There is such a thing as Christian rock which would seem more appropriate with his talent and background. Nothing wrong with rock music, it has more soul than what he's put out since this. A talent wasted on crap music. Perhaps he needs to go back and listen to this again and come up with something along the same vein.

  • I like him way better then Dave Donato.

  • Love this song.

  • Great voice! He sounds like Hughes in the Highs!

  • good drums , good vocals and ofc good riff :)

  • the main riff sounds like Zep's Kasmir...da da da dadada dadada.

  • We can dispense with whether or not Jeff Fenholt was really in Black Sabbath, whether or not he's an asshole, and all that. Can we simply agree he's pretty fucking good on these demo tracks?
