Exploring La-Mulana 27 Final

I decided to make this to help some players in case they get stuck. Considering La-Mulana emphasizes exploration, there's really no 'correct' way to progress through the game.

Well, it's been fun recording these videos, and now, it's all coming to an end. The final conclusion! The grand finale!

The video starts from the end of the Endless Corrider, right before the entrance to the Shrine of the Mother.

Fighting the Mother is a puzzle in itself, so unless you want to try to fight her yourself without any help, don't watch!

The ending could have been a lot better, especially for a game of this magnitude. But I guess if plays like an MSX game, sounds like an MSX game, and looks like an MSX game, it might as well end like an MSX game.

Alright, so I'm confused on the 4th part of the final boss. Is there a pattern that you need to follow to actually harm her? Because it seems like every time I try to attack her, I get nailed with lightning bolts. Or is there a certain part of the eye you need to hit? I mean, I've been attacking the tops of them like there's no tomorrow, but...no luck.

Yea, there's a specific combination to hitting the eyes.

Attacking the correct eye will make them teleport.

Attacking the incorrect eye will have lighting shoot at you, then you'd have to restart the combo.

There's something about the story that always bugged me - that fetus during the boss battles, if memory serves me right, is never really explained. If the Mother is the source of Humankind in an effort to send her back to the skies, was the fetus another attempt at "freedom"? Was it another Guardian being born? Was it a physical incarnation of the Mother? What was it?

How do I get the final door to mother to open? Instead of that white ladder that appears to let you in to her room, there's a wall there for me. I think I got all the mantras. Hmm, what did I miss?

Either I'm not seeing a pattern or there isn't a pattern to her second form sweeping blue lasers. I've tried multiple times over the course of the last month to kill Mother and those freaking lasers almost always take off the majority of my health because I'm unlucky enough to always be standing in their sights (which are pretty big).

Am I just going to have to keep trying and hope I get lucky or is there a better strategy to her second form?

Holy hell. The game actually IS going crazy on me: I've had the music bug up (restart!) when using time freeze, had the game knock Lemeza back and forth between two screens for half a minute, and now the exp meter is overflowing...every hit refills the life meter :O

La Mulana is such a great retro game. Tribute to the once mighty Konami. Do you also know the Maze of Galious Game that Mulana is inspired on? I thought that Galious was the best on the MSX. And definitely the best of Konami
