Hello! Mabuhay!

My name is Colleen Caryl Torres. I'm eighteen years old, taking up International Studies at Xavier University - Ateneo de Cagayan here in the Philippines.

I am a consistent Dean's Lister and volunteer. I've helped out in numerous job fairs, freshmen orientations and general assemblies in my university. I am also a student artist in our school's art organization, Circulo de Arte.

One of our projects in Circulo de Arte this year is the Plastic Crochet Fashion Show wherein we teach the less fortunate how to make plastic crocheted products and we showcase their works in a fashion show in order for them to gain a decent living.

I am also an outreach activity organizer.

I do what I do because I believe it is so important to give back. As the saying goes, "There can be days when you can't help yourself, but there is never a day when you cannot help other people."

The most gratifying thing about what I do is another cliche but true thing and that's really just seeing the happy and smiling faces of those people whom we've helped out. The most difficult thing about what we do is finding people who are like-minded. Some people really don't care much about the less fortunate and it's hard to gather support.

The knowledge I could learn in this summit can really help me in my volunteer work. I want to learn more, I want to meet and interact with teenagers from different countries, and, also, the opportunity to travel is always a plus.

Overall, it's just an incredible once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and I would be so honored if I were to be selected as a Global Changemaker.

Sooo, that's it. This has been Colleen. Thank you so much for watching.
Maraming salamat, po! :D
