Another Thanksgiving Eve classic ensued in 2006, as the Pirates were able to somehow thwart Venice's last ditch attempt to win the game after they blew a 20-7 second quarter lead. Here, Robert Franco sacks Venice quarterback Richard Ragland on this two-point conversion attempt, immediately the ball popped out, and Venice's Curtis McNeal grabbed it in mid-air. He was totally outnumbered by the rushing Pirate defense and finally surrendered when Ahmad Wood tackled him. San Pedro somehow escaped with a 27-26 victory to shock the Gondoliers.
