Sinopsis / Synopsis
V. Devarajan es popularmente conocido como 'Olympic Deva' tras participar con 18 anos en las Olimpiadas de Barcelona' 92. A los 22 anos fue el No. 3 del Mundo en categoria peso-pluma. En 1994 gano la medalla de bronce en los campeonatos del Mundo de boxeo en Bangkok, convirtiendose en el primer boxeador indio en la historia en ganar una medalla en un Campeonato del Mundo. Anos mas tarde, es practicamente olvidado e ignorado en la India. Trabaja para sobrevivir como empleado ferroviario. Todos los dias por la tarde ensena boxeo a jovenes promesas con medios precarios y falta de apoyo del Gobierno e instituciones deportivas. Su pasion por el deporte es tal que ensena tambien boxeo a jovenes de castas desfavorecidas sin remuneracion alguna con el unico proposito que ganen competiciones nacionales y asi puedan ser admitidos en el Ejercito o en la Policia bajo la cuota de deportes del gobierno indio.

V. Devarajan is popular known as 'Olympic Deva' after he participated at age 18 in 1992 Barcelona Olympics. At age 22 he ranked No. 3 in the World Featherweight category. In 1994 Bangkok World Cup he won the bronze medal becoming the first Indian to win a World Cup medal on foreign soil. Later years he is ignored by sports authorities and forgot by the public and Indian Institutions. He works on Railways to survive. His only connection with the sport is the 'Boxing School' where he coaches youngsters from all kind of backgrounds specially underprivileged children without any remuneration.

ALFREDO DE BRAGANZA (Alicante, España, 1976) Ha viajado por diferentes países y ha trabajado en diversos campos. Durante los últimos 10 años ha vivido en la India. Ha realizado cortometrajes en diversos formatos (digital, 16 mm y 35 mm). Su largometraje documental "Smoking Babas-Holy Men of India", rodado en el norte de la India en idioma Hindi e Inglés ha sido seleccionado en el Festival Internacional de Madrid IMAGINEINDIA 2011 en la categoria 'Spanish Productions in India'. Y su largometraje, ficcion, "Maayan el pescador" seleccionado en 2011 Florida International Film Festival, (Sunscreen); pelicula independiente, de bajo presupuesto, rodada en el sur de la India, en las zonas afectadas por el Tsunami del 2004, captando las ricas tradiciones y cultura de Tamil Nadu, convirtió a Alfredo de Braganza en el primer español en realizar un largometraje de ficción en la India, en celuloide (16MM) e idioma autóctono (Tamil).


ALFREDO DE BRAGANZA (Alicante, Spain, 1976) He has traveled to different countries and has worked in various fields. He has lived in India for the last 10 years. He has made short films in various formats (digital, 16 mm and 35 mm). His feature documentary film "Smoking Babas-Holy Men of India" shot in Northern India in Hindi and English language has been selected in Madrid International Film Festival IMAGINEINDIA 2011 and his indepedent and low-budget film "Maayan the fisherman" in Florida International Film Festival, Sunscreen 2011 as 'Best Narrative Film'. The film shot in South India capturing the rich culture of Tamil Nadu and its traditions, made Alfredo de Braganza to become the first Spanish person to make a feature film in India, on celluloid (16MM) and native language (Tamil).
