@Raid71 AMEN! I'm a white male but I cannot stand people still playing the race card. I'm not racist by any stretch of the imagination but as soon as I speak out against any black person anytime that person did something wrong, I'm accused of racism. It's rediculous. If someone is doing something wrong, be it white, black, hispanic, arab, whatever, I will call you out and tell you to knock it off. Why can't we stop being african american, white american or hispanic american and JUST BE AMERICAN!

I agree with you on the Gates situation, the racist or race card complaint is just plain wrong. He should of worked with the police and proved who he was and been calm about it. He knew better, instead he was a very hostile and defensive.

The fact that you think Dr. Gates is playing the race card shows your ignorance. Dr. Gates is one of the most conservative scholars (black or white) in the academy, he would be the last one to play the race card. You're stupid. White people run the media not black people, they're supporting that idea, not black people. You're ignorant...won't be wasting any more of my time.

@supermike2164 this is a great thing, you make money when you buy a house not when you sell it. Meaning you buy a house when it is below value. This is why people are freaking about selling because they didn't make money in the beginning. My wife's dad does this. I think it is an excellent idea, better than the Africa idea.

@supermike2164 For economic purposes I don't think you will benefit more there, if that ius the case why are so many Africans coming to the US and sending money back to their families. Economics is better when you include all races. My suppliers here have customers, from Japan, Russia, USA, Africa, India and many more countries. Their money is well diversified, that's good economics my friend.
Thank you finally someone with sense!

Cornel West refers to this as "justified paranoia." However, Professor Gates did not act upon race alone. In this case, class antagonism played a role. A wealthy presitgious Professor, a political powerbroker and personal friend of the President acted upon his privilege as a member of the ruling class to trounce a working class police officer. Gates used race as a hammer but the anvil was clearly his upper class prestige and entitlement to beat upon a lowly working class officer.
