Dont you miss the old tv shows like this?

Part of this medley of melodies is a traditional dance tune, so-named 'The Sailor's Horn-Pipe', also known as one of the themes used in 'PopEye The-Sailor-Man' Cartoons, and because it's public domain, re-using this, and other such public domain melodies saves production costs.
Cheers!

In my comments below I said "barrel organ" in two places where I meant "barrel piano". I think all three tunes I mentioned probably have a British Isles origin. The one I am trying to identify is probably a light orchestral piece by an English composer based on traditional Morris Dance tunes. Does anyone have a recorded version of the entire tune? (In this cartoon, it is cut off at the end).

I saw these old Paul Terry cartoons as a kid in the '50s, loved the background music and have tried to identify pieces from it since then. The tunes at :04-1:29 are 2 traditional British Isles/American hornpipes, "Sailor's Hornpipe" and "Fisher's Hornpipe", on a barrel organ. Next, from 1:32-2:31, is "The Old Rustic Bridge by the Mill", an old, sentimental Irish song, also on barrel organ. Does anyone know the next tune? It is my favorite and includes excerpts from English Morris dance music.

I'm obsessed with the style of characters in the twenties. Characters almost entirely black with a little white. Its so cool. Mickey and Felix rock.

@EGPMH Not quite- there were many Felix rip-offs in the 1920s.

it says "us fellars-dud makes a home run". i think there was a comic book series back then called us fellars.

@RecordGuy3434 Not so much a comic book, simply a series that Wallace Carlson was doing at the time for the Bray Studios. How long is your copy of the film?
