  • im just bought off my dad a Yamaha natural sound stereo RX 495, im trying to hook up a woofer i bought aswell, but it doesnt come with a subwoofer out put what do i do????

  • @101donkeypunch

    Couple options:

Exchange it for one that does.

Use full range outputs (Tape Out) with a sub that has a full range input with a variable crossover.

Connect a powered sub that has "speaker level inputs"

    Don't use a sub

You can give us a call and we can help you determine if you need new equipment or if what you have now will work together.

  • What's that input knob on the left of the RX-797? Is it a Preamp?

  • @mikeb1444

The "Input" selector knob is used to select from the various inputs (DVD, Phono, CD, etc). Instead of having a separate button for each input, you just turn the knob.

    Hope that helps,

  • @crutchfieldtv please help me with yamaha rx-v 463 conection to hp desktop

  • @wolf776688

I have a home receiver connected to my desktop computer with a simple mini-to-RCA audio cable. It connects in place of computer speakers. To hook it up like this get a good cable like item # 119MCON2M. You can find that on the Crutchfield website.

If you need more help, you can call Tech Support at the number on your invoice. I’m certain they can take it to the next level. One of the reasons to buy from Crutchfield.

    I hope that helps,

  • its awesome if u r listening to music all day long!

  • kinda funny my yamaha rx 397 was the only one left on display and none in stock so i toook that with just the receiver and remote. But whats funny is the remote belongs to a yamaha rx v661 so i spent the whole afternoon trying to figure out whats the matetr with my remote and receiver so i went onto yamaha's site and they had a smaller remote for the 397 so i looked up the remote i had and found that it belonged to a v661 so now i'll return it

  • Wooooooo! Just got one for my dad's system. These are really good. Unlike most receivers that don't allow anything below 40hz to non-subwoofer channels, this one has a setting that gives the front two channels full range, for some thunderous bass. On my dad's RF7II's and Pair of RSW10D's, this makes games Like Battlefield Bad Company 2 a real... Blast!

  • I got a rxv-465 since april 2010 and it is a pure scrap. Sound is metalic and no warm out from my home theater ... I will sell it and go with a real with quality and personality. With 500$ spend on my yamaha maybe i will get 300$ for chrismass in classifieds ...:(

  • @crutchfieldtv Sorrry.... Yeah.. you got it. I'm getting myself backwards.
