  • Rachel, Rachel, Rachel! We are so lucky to have you...excellent journalism, excellent expose'! Had you only been here earlier, like while the Rat Bag Republicans were lying their asses off and fear mongering the US into a preemptive strike in Iraq!

You bring credence and validity to the idea that a true democracy is dependent on an independent and ethical media.

Wonderful stuff. I just hope people remember how low these bastards stooped to fight health reform.

  • Thanks for your hard work.. Keep it going.

  • Rachel, Rachel, Sweetheart, we are the choir. WE see what is going on, but how do you get to the brain washed who are scared to death of word like socialism, or now the big word entitlements, without bothering to find out if the term even applies?? FEAR . Did you see the report that said the difference between the Right and the Left is that the Right still operates out of the reptilian brain... enough said.

  • i love when groups like AAPS are exposed for what they truly are. it makes me feel all tingly inside.

  • The bill is obviously not just discussing what insurance won't cover. One of the main goals of this is to try to increase coverage for people and procedures which is a bad problem currently. Senate is not immune to stupidity - just trust me on that one.

  • Yea give all americans healthcare - that is called a mandate which repugs hate so much. But then what about controlling healthcare costs? What about alternative options for people that cant afford to pay the current premiums? What about eliminating pre-existing conditions and refusing to cover procedures on a whim? What about excessive profits? excessive overhead? increasing competition? decreasing unwanted costs? TORT reform? abortion coverage? compensation to doctors? controlling drug costs?

  • Wow - I knew AAPS was conservative but I didnt know they were tea bag lunatics.

  • Good to see rachel maddow isn't afraid to talk truth to mainstream media's bullshit.

  • Health care profiteers are not prepared for the next phase of this investigative journalism.

What comes next is the criminal investigations, the revelations of corruption and lobbying for monopolistic health care laws (Ithaca NY has ONE health insurer? Please.)

What is now maneuvering and fogging techniques will give way to a major investigation, the major players will be identified and the court battle will begin. And these corrupt leaders of major health care companies will fry.

  • It's time to stop for a second and recognize this moment in the history of journalism. MSNBC, The Daily Show, and The Colbert Report are becoming respectable investigative journalists, unmasking these laughable health care profiteers.

When news pieces like this are coupled with videotape proof and photos of websites and other documents, it's absolutely the most entertaining shit that's happened in news EVER.

  • AAPS reminds me of a medical theory going around the US in the 1820s. It said that black were black because they were actually white only with a kind of leprosy.

How strange, you can turn black if your roast in the sun consistently but I thought leprosy turned you WHITE.

AAPS seems to be the intelectual heirs to the author of this insane theory. Which if you look at it well makes racism even more insane than it already is. Since it makes blacks actually white, only sick.

  • pidjunk: Slow down there trixi; What I said was very DAMN CLEAR! Why cant you dumb ass people learn to read. No need to restate it. Good luck.

  • We can hope that the Senate is immune all we want but it is not. And passed congress by only 4 votes because republicans are a party of NO. Instead of providing a better bill, all they do is bash the Democratic option and vote no no no on on no no no no. Talk about THAT, not some vague shit that it takes only one line to do a bill. How many bills do you know that consist of only one line of this importance? Get real, if you disagree with Rachel, then provide evidence as to WHY. She always does.

  • pidjunk: What I just mentioned is what is on the minds of many officials. And why the bill passed congress only by 4 votes. I am not alone, many read the bill the same as I do. If we are to give all Americans Health Care it takes only once sentence. (Give all Americans Health Care)! Only what is being offered is over 2000 Pages of what they WONT COVER!. If you can not understand that. Then we are in trouble. Special interest have brainwashed the brains of many. We can hope the Senate is immune.

  • the scare mongering that is evident from the right is most grpahically illustrated in suggesting a govt officla would determine hwo gets a procedure. Look, the people in the U.S. need to just look beyond their broders for oh like 60 seconds- do just a little research- and they will understand such an accusation is absolutely crazy.

If the public option was a disaster, one of the many countries outside of the U.S., that currently has it, would also be seeking major reform. But NO. Not needed

  • Totally true seamoremonster, I am in UK and it's easier to see the truth when you're not involved. It's obvious that big pharma co's and insurance co's are panicing like mad cause they are worried their bank roll is gonna get smaller. They have had America held to ransom for to long. People die while fat cat insurance CEO's wallow in wealth, it's criminal. Rachel is a star.

  • I'm just a random guy from a far off country. To your average person outside the U.S.- that lives in a country with a government healthcare option- the controversy is absolutely bewildering.

It goes to show the power of the media that in a country with as much money as the U.S. a debate actually exists around this issue of a truely competitive healthcare system that ensures more people have greater access.

The rich and powerful companies verses the american people. choose your side.

  • 2xtream:

Fair questions except they don't have anything to do with what Rachel just said. This particular segment went to discredit all the groups that supposedly represent the public will but instead are a bunch of corporate funded shells or, in case of AAPS, a bunch of conspiracy idiots. This is relevant because they are the "main" opposition to health care and as you see (I've no doubt you can double check all the info Rachel said by yourself) they are all fools or liars and sometimes both.

  • Fox is not news- they are a 24/7 infomercial.

  • Thank you for sharing this information Rachel! These Anti-Health Reform Groups are dangerous.

  • This is why Fox News fans don't watch MSNBC-because the truth fucking hurts.

Lies, on the other hand are funny & entertaining, which is why liberals do watch Fox News.
