Not likely since she is 10 and loves her tail, we think it makes her unique..:)

  • :O Wow she looks really big, I always thought rat terriers would be smaller... She's still really cute though :)

  • Thanks. She weighs 27 pounds but the vet says she is all muscle. She is a very very active dog. I have seen rats 45 pounds but the owner feed the crap..lol.

  • mine wont eat pretzils she just rolls on them then walks away

  • if a rattie is ten are they old?

  • u have a austrailian cattle dog..cool arnt those rare?

  • @webkinz096637 breeders and the akc are doing away with altering dogs because it is cruel. i have an Australian Cattle Dog and i didn't get his tail cut off.

  • @sasscuba Yeah, some people dock the tails when the dogs are puppies, but it isn't necessary. Originally, it was so that the dog's owners could grab the dog by its tail and pull it out of a hole when it was hunting for rats or other vermin and so the tail wouldn't get caught on brambles or underbrush during the hunt. Dogs just for company or pleasure by no means have to have their tails docked. I'm glad you didn't :-) It can't be comfortable for the poor doggies to get their tails cut :-(

  • @webkinz096637 My dog has his tail and he is still a puppy not even a year old and he plays with his tail all the time and I also don't feel like going to the vet to make him look a little bit cuter he was suppose to be a gaurd dog lol one time he scared away a boxer that was eating his food he was yapping for about a minute until the boxer ran away.

  • lol.. i wish my rat terrier was trained 4 hunting... but she does bark at certain things as if she was a guard dog

  • @webkinz096637 Yes they are. they are extremely fast and are built for hunting.though my rat terrier only plays with the things she finds XD I have to kill it for her
