High Speed Trains passing Fenwick Level Crossing - between Doncaster and York on the East Coast Main Line (ECML).

Class 43 locos speeding through include examples from Grand Central and National Express East Coast (NatEx NXEC) as well as a Class 66 from EWS (now DB) and a Class 222 Pioneer DMU from First Hull Trains.

  • @Defn28 We think it is a private house now, but it would have been the level crossing keepers' house in days gone by...

  • from 1.16 to 1.24 shows the visual distortion from the compression wave of mist.

    Compressed air from the vortex before and then again at the end.

    its very quick and i was surprised to see there really is a visual distortion between the fixed post and the fixed lens. but the speed wave actually bends the light.

    That is great high speed digital photography
