the drumming is very signature. It's referencing past pop groups from the 1960s.

Can't knock the drum beat...dattkiddvictor nailed it-- ever since Phil Spector threw heavy reverb on that Ronnette's "Be My Baby" beat, people have been using it for years. Also notably, reminds me of The Mercury Rev, from "In a Funny Way"...
