  • Thanks for fast reply. I don;t think it got damaged, I just think that it really keep track of how many pages you print and when it gets to the end of that it simply will not let the printer keep printing, no mater how much ink is left in the cartridge. There should be a way to program it or troubleshoot the printer to ignore the message. I guess. maybe be one of the way could be calling the Lexamak and telling them that your "new ink" is not working and see if they can show me how to troublesht

  • @alenat15 It seems that there should be a way to reset the printer but I don't think it keeps track of how many pages you print because ink usage from page to page varies.

  • I get a message that I can't print because my ink is out of ink. I tried to unplug my Lexmark Genesis printer but it keeps giving me that error. Until now, I was able to print with the low ink indicator, but now its now allowing me to do so. Did anyone had the same problem, and how did you solve it?

  • @alenat15 I'm sorry but I'm not familiar with your model printer. Your printer does have a 3 year warranty so if it's newer then that I'd call Lexmark Support 1-800-395-4039 (US), I have had to call several times with my printer and have always hung up a happy camper.

  • @alenat15 Ok thanks, but the problem is that even if I call they will simply tell me to buy the correct ink, which is 100 and not the 105. I have to find a way to make my printer ignore the error regarding the empty ink. when I remove the chip, the printer gives me another error...so now sure what to do...

  • @alenat15 OH I see now. I have a Lexmark Pro705 and when I put the cartridge in I have to press the "OK" button on the printers dashboard to clear the ink message, if you see the thread with 11rpatrick he had a similar problem to yours . Did the chip get damaged when you switched it over?

  • thank you SOOO MUCH for making this video. ink prices are just outrageous nowadays. i bought 105 XL cartridges for my lexmark s405. it "offically" uses 100 ones but they are the same exact size D: swapping the stickers did the trick.one of the 100 cartridges costs £20 each but i bought 8 of the 105 XL cartridges for £25 from costco. :O you dont have to be great at maths to see how badly i was being ripped off!

  • From which cartridge type did you grab the chip: was it 100, 100XL, 100A, or 100XLA? Because if it was either a 100 or 100XL, then that would imply that those can potentially be refilled because you say you got an ink low warning but it still worked.

  • @1524pete Thanks. I'll have to check the site out.
