@loathedanabhorred It's not a matter of understanding. You keep using the conclusion in your argument, which makes your argument circular. You can't say "the fetus is not yet a being with rights" to prove that it is not yet a being with rights.
Do you understand my friend? Its called begging the question.
@loathedanabhorred What if everyone in the entire world refused to care for a 7 year old, does that entitle them to kill it too? I mean, it would have no one left to help it, just like a fetus has no one either.
@Polisanity "A fetus needs its mother, so do most kids up to age 7 or 8"
Duuuhh, born babies can be cared for by someone other than their mothers. A fetus lives off a woman's body. Meaning, if it is removed, it dies. Big difference. A non-viable fetus is physically attached and dependant on her survival. It has no right to be in that woman against her will. She has every right to remove it or continue incubating it. Her uterus belongs to her , not to you.
@Polisanity What ABOUT a baby clinging to a breast? What about siamese twins? What makes you think hospital staff should be able to kill patients as long as women have human rights? What do any of these individuals, or anyone else who has been born, have to do with the topic of abortion? What about these people? What are you asking me?
@Polisanity "You still haven't defined when it becomes a human. Either it is a human, or it never is, because its just a continuum of growth."
Who said a human fetus was of any other species?? The point is that it is not a human being yet, and will not gain rights until it's born. The womb it's in belongs to a human being who has human rights and freedoms, is capable of making her most important life choices. Should you tell ppl what to do with their bodies, how to live their lives?
@loathedanabhorred@loathedanabhorred What about a 5 month old baby clinging to it's mothers breast. Or what about siamese twins. A patient inside a hospital doesn't mean the hospital management can kill the patient.
1) It has Brain development by week 9 gestation, so wrong. Also, we don't kill mentally retarded people who have no mind
2) A fetus needs its mother, so do most kids up to age 7 or 8
3) "not yet a being with rights" - not an argument, your restating the conclusion

@loathedanabhorred thats what we do to murderers. We tell them not to use their bodies (their hands, specifically) to murder people
