This is the design project for mechanical systems laboratory (MAE 106) at UC Irvine. The purpose of this project was to design and build a device that will play crossfire on a large scale. A goal is scored when the ball crosses the line on the opposing team's side. If there is a tie, the loosing team is the one with the ball on their side. As per the rules, the device, or any of the controls cannot be touch after the game has started. The devices are playing this game by themselves. The device is controled by a PDI controller ran in Labview 8.6. The ball is sensed by a infrared distance measuring sensor unit. This video was taken early in the testing process.
