Okay here's what to do to avoid this glitch.
DO NOT choose thunder dragon first.
IF YOU DID don't speak to Golo the Gamebreaker.
IF YOU DID don't save and reset the game.
IF YOU SAVED go to wii shop channel and buy the zelda save update channel.
IF YOU DON'T HAVE INTERNET CONNECTION then you have to restart the game.

Well sir, the desert dragon will give you the possibility to win the hylian shield, so i recommend doing it first
