Key witnesses accuse Gordon Brown, who was then the Treasury Chief, of cutting defence spending after the invasion, leaving troops without adequate equipment to fight.

The fact that in this day and age, and with all the history of the world that has gone before. we talk about whether we had the resorces for WAR!!!.makes me cringe. In the first week after 9/11 the American embassy and Heathrow was surrounded by concrete defenses and security went into hyper drive.

Fortunately the people on the whole did not follow their lead.

You forget we had the IRA.
