USS GEORGE H.W BUSH CVN-77 boat trip round the carrier in Stokes Bay 29 May 2011, pt 3

CVN-77 out in the Solent on a very windy and rough sunday afternoon I was holding the camcorder with one hand and a railing with the other also got very wet on the way out.Hope to catch it leaving the Solent tuesday morning and film the depature of USS TRUXTUN,so another film will be up by tuesday night.

@1stMrSceptical The next carrier being built CVN-78 has already been name Gerald R Ford and is a new class of carrier and will be known as The Gerald R Ford Class.

It looks like one of the Gosport-Portsmouth ferries at the stern. I'm guessing that's how the crew are going ashore.

How far away from the thing would you say your boat was? I reas there was a 250m exclusion zone.

@TheMrWevo There using one of the Gosport ferries and a blue funnel boat for the liberty runs.As for how close we got to the carrier thats hard to say, the skipper did mention the exclusion zone but I would say at one point we went well inside the zone.There was a police launch going round the carrier all the time.

@GreggDuncanMcLean1 Personaly my dad was a master sargent in the U.S Army landing on Omaha beach fighting his way thru occupied France finaly being wounded in the battle of the Bulge and im very proud of him. When we buried him a decade ago we had an honor guard of retired Naval Officers as his colored guard at the Riverside Miltary cementary and so have a special love for the U.S. Navy as well in their honoring my father the way they did. God bless the U.S. Navy ♥

@Antifaith29 Yes the Russians had a huge part in defeatin the Germans but had not the U.S. been brought into it there can be no doubt that the Brittish could have ever mounted an assualt upon the European continent without the U.S.A being there to overpower their way in. Besides lets not forget had not the U.S. kept England afloat with the war materials before interance into ww11 they would have more than likely colasped leaving the Russians to fight alone and the outcome would be any 1's guess

@vonkaunaz .....Whatever dude but who you going to call when China makes a move on world domination as it most likely will do one day? Yes the anti-ship missiles are a major threat n concern especaily sinse China has made such a weapon whose sole purpose is taking out these supercarriers but we are working on a deffense of them and continue to carry on as the worlds policeman which we didnt ask for but was handed to us being the worlds only superpower today.Like us or hate us dosent matter to us

@Falcontronics also, Bush senior, was the youngest Naval Pilot in American history, he also went through some close calls on his combat missions once being shot down.

@vonkaunaz um..no U.S navy ships can now shoot down ICBM missiles, and the Carriers Defense is made to stand up against great numbers of Anti-ship missiles and aircraft.
