Third World is one of the longest-lived reggae bands of all time, and one of Jamaica's most consistently popular crossover acts among international audiences. While the band was long capable of authentic roots reggae, they usually preferred to mix in elements of R&B, funk, pop, and rock (and, later on, dancehall and rap). Purists often criticized their music as tame and polished, overly beholden to commercial concerns. Indeed, they were regular visitors to the American and British charts during the '80s, but the best of their output was undeniably satisfying on a creative level as well.
This video is recorded live at Sunsplash Reggae Festival'81: A Tribute to Bon Marley.

  • I was at this show, Stevie Wonder came out and played drums later. They played Masterblaster as the sun came up over Jarret Park. A magical moment, I always wondered why they never released it! As memory serves, the song was close to 30 minutes long.

    Jah Love!

  • Verry good reggae :)

  • Looks like my dad at 0:47

  • @dubgroove Willie left Third world in '97. Tony Williams 'Ruption" is the drummer now. But yeah willie helped make third world!

  • 1:43 whats that instrumentt??? wow xd sounds cool

  • Like the Psalms say," the players of intruments will be there". That is the real music and talent. Todays musicians are too generic. Haris Pilton got talent too.

  • these guys have to be high on something!!! haha they dance funny!!!
