you are right about head positioning (I just purchased 2nd ed of SS after loaning out 1st ed), but I still don't think it should be moving so much. Have you tried thinking about "sitting back"? Perhaps that would help keep your hammies contracted at the bottom and prevent lumbar rounding.

also, I take back my comment about depth.

I wasn't implying you should look up at all. If I recall correctly, from SS 1st edition, you should be looking at a point about 10-15 in front of you at a point about a foot off the floor. So basically not down so much, and definitely not above head level.
I think the most important thing though is to work on "flexing" your lower back so you aren't rounded. Before you start the pull in the DL, your back should be straight, not round.

SQUAT: your lower back is rounding, you look down, and you don't go low enough
DL: lower back rounding
also, that squat rack seems dangerous. how the hell are you supposed to step out?
I think you need to bring your arse down when you DL more boyo, i like your squats :) p.s do you know if it's ok to have your knees coming over your feet when you go down into the hole?
I've read various different oppinions on this, I find it easier.

Cheers.
Knees over feet is ok, just make sure they stay in line with each other.

Nothing wrong with looking down... looking up is worse.
I don't do anything heavier than 5RM, so I can usually tell a rep before if I'm not gonna make it.
Thanks.
