  • Why not get the Ultimate Tape Extender for your 1541U-II and you can just put the microSD card in the PC, copy the tap and then load it? No volume settings needed, no conversion... and so on. ;-)

  • @e5frog Heh-heh... you're a little behind the times. I reviewed the tape adapter for the 1541-U2 last week (you should be able to see the video in my YouTube channel). I'm currently reviewing all the latest C64 loading gadgets and this happens to by the current one I purchased :)

  • Doesn't seem very likely you would NOT know where the casette plug is or which side is supposed to be up...

  • @e5frog Yes - but better safe than sorry. There are some strange people out there...

  • What a huge case - is there no way to build an MP3-Player in it? - Plug the hole unit via USB at the Stick to PC, feed it with new stuff, connect it back to c64, and you don't need any cables...Wouln'd that work? By the way - however nice work ;)

  • Can it load original turbo loading games stored as TAPs with loading graphics and music intact? Like on the Retrogenius Ultimate C64 DVD with 2500 untouched original games in TAP format?

  • @maiki60fps

And don't forget no cassette motor control for multiload games AND 5 tries to get right volume after many failed loads and the tipex to mark volume level that worked. And swapping saved programs with speccy chums rarely worked due to iffy volume levels.

C= got it right Sinclair did it the cheap & basic flawed way as usual.

  • can you plug a Commodore 64 into any computer monitor?

  • On ZX Spectrum you just plug the jacks in and that's it. No worries about mono stereo either. At least one thing Speccy has built in & ready to use.

  • Looks like a handy device. The ultimate thing now would be to make your own vinyls and have games on them that you then load into the C64! :)

  • @C64endings Well you're probably right. There used to be small plastic tabs you could place on the right slot in the connector that would make it impossible (unless breaking it ) to connect it wrong. Seems like an easier solution than adding stickers - but I guess if you have bought a label maker you want to use it as much as possible. ;-)

I like your reviews, keep it up - and try working on the lighting, size (upload as 16:9 res. instead of 4:3 res. shrunken ws) and handling the camera . ;-)

  • @C64endings Yes, I remember now, it's the cheapest way to get the tape data from the PC to the C64 I guess - unless you use a tape adapter maybe.
