And old video I had of the cell processor in action.

Everything is rendered in real time.
Rendered with the cell processor, Not the PS3.

  • I totally understood everything they just said......... (not really :)

  • Thats funny, last time I checked I was a cell developer working on a project for Sony. Guess I must know nothing about my chosen platform.

  • you clearly know nothing about the ps3s cell, its the strongest cell they have produced

  • If anyone who claim that Core i7 is faster than Cell, should try and compare it with x86 version of Cell BE processor, they will be shocked. Everytimes they tries to pit their CPU against IBM/AMD's, they loses.

  • and some claim the i7 is faster... pshhh

  • What the hell are you waffling about?

Generally speaking a cell processor is a cell processor no matter what device its installed in.

I say generally because the cell processors ear marked for ps3 production only have seven operational SPE's (out of eight). This was done to increase production yields. Fully functional chips end up in server's and stuff like in the video.

So your fanboyism is totally baseless, the ps3 cell is effectively gimped from the outset.

    In short you're a moron.

  • so what if its not ps3, the ps3 cell can do the same and more

  • wtf?

    thats awesome

  • Awesome! just wish all that could be a day to day thing here :(
