I think that this song reminded Sir John Mills a lot about his own theater career...He was amazing. The tears at the end had to be real.

This song was capable of making me break down and cry (in a very many way) the first time I heard it, which is a very rare occurrence. Something about it just truly connected to me, and even now it manages to get my eyes watery. Favorite number in the entire musical.
i love the ending, when he barely can sing anymore, its so sad, but in a beautiful way. i love gus. was the actor really already 90 when he played the role? thats impressive.

As soon as Gus starts singing, I feel like it's more than acting. I feel like it's... telling his own story. This musical is so amazing. *sighs happily*
