@starr522 Come on now he has had some # 1's one of which was with Dolly and yes she gave him some 14 top 10 singles but I don't think he was as bad as you make it sound here. Think about it if he hadn't hire Dolly she might not be holding all those industry records she holds today. top billboard female artiste with top 10's 40's and #1's in addition to being the top overall with more top 10 albums than anyone else. let'
s give Porter a break

@sissy5595 Don't you think we lost a great star when he died I was mad that he was not inducted into the Hall of Fame back in the 1980's. He should have been. As Kenny Rogers said, ''I am glad that they did it before he died so he could enjoy a couple years of it'' to paraphrased it.

I remember getting to shake his hand and say hi to Porter 23 April 2005 when I was on the Grand Ole Opry with the Opry Square Dancers. I miss him very much. LittleCountryDJ

@DOLLYWAYNE38 Porter wagoner what can i say, He was my idol & still is,What a showman on stage & off a real gentleman and a fine person. I am from Murray River Prince Edward Island Canada, a long way from Nashville Tenn. I had the privilege of going to Nashville in 1992 & 1993. In 1992 I shook hands with Porter on stage at the Grand Ole Opry and in 1993 I met him again at Opry Land and we chatted and he autographed his life story for me and I will always treasure it. He was the best! Garnet.

@starr522 I don't think anyone cares what you think as far as criticizing Porter. Were you part of the show and didn't get paid or what? You don't have to be insulting about this fine musician I am sure Dolly could handle her career without your opinion. As for Marty - I like him but he started out as a smart aleck before he found out that he wasn't an icon like Porter. Connie has helped him keep his career going which is great. I like to see success and Porter worked hard. - Paula

"Ya'll Come" and let me try to screw you like I tried with Dolly. I want 50% OF YOUR INCOME FOR LIFE. A legend? Yes. But still an asshole. Marty Stewart is a great guy that pays tribute to the so call legends. When Porter was down, who came to the rescue? Dolly. If Porter is such an Icon. Name me 5 number 1' s by mr. Wagoner. Shold be easy. George Straight only has 57.
They don't make Country legends like the
great Wagonmaster, Porter Wagoner! He
personified with an exclamation point what true country and western home-style
music stood for ! HIs suits glittered and shined, so did his love for his loyal fans !
