My african grey is named Naja, which is "beautiful" in the language they speak in Africa. I forget what it's called.. They're so smart, these birds...

Just felt the need to clarify that there are many languages in Africa. The one most people know about is Swahili. Other common ones are Shona and Afrikaans. When I googled this name, I found it in Somalian meaning "success" and I found one name site that gives it a vague background of "African" and denotes it's meaning to "Stoic and strong", I am yet to find anything linking this word to the meaning "beautiful" though.
