Your engine always has combustion, and yes, flames, occurring within it. It's just that these exotic cars have more power that instead of exiting the vehicle as remnants of the fire, the fuel is being burned and forced out the tailpipe. Perfectly acceptable. Happens with drag rails too, it's just the fuel in the engine leaving so fast it burns externally.
