  • Hey thanks Colin! I agree the combuitar version is better than the recorded one. Perhaps I may do a version of it on combuitar and dundun (talking drum) D A7 C It would be better for me to write the chord pick progression in tab. Remind me if you haven't heard from me by next weekend.

All the best with the ukulele

    Cheers

    Benny

  • Hey Benny, I am just about to go off on holiday but might have a bit of time to do a video when I get back.

  • That would of course be great! I've been down to Calton Road filming some ideas and feel good about the location. I've also been using an editing program which is lots of fun so even if you can manage the shoot. I'm happy to edit...

    Enjoy Poland

    Cheers

  • Hi Benny,That would be great! I meant to tell you my favourite Corries song is Garten Mother's Lullaby, also Derwentwater's Farewell-both on 'The Very Best Of The Corries' album.Did you write this song? It's lovely! Hope to hear from you soon, cheers,Colin.

  • Hi Benny,This song sounds wonderful on the Combuitar, any chance of doing a Combuitar version to buy on i-tunes? I know this song is on one of your albums but I think it's a guitar version, this version is even better.Would also love to learn the chords for it.I'm just starting out on my stringed instrument playing at the ripe old age of 42!,and am learning the ukelele at the moment, but in time I hope to go on to bigger and better things-maybe even a Combuitar one day!All the best,Colin

  • Yeh Donald, I'll make a wee film soon to demonstrate the instrument in detail!

  • @Bennytet

Benny, thanks for your reply. I was ferriting about the net looking at old Corries clips and came across your bit. You've done well making your instrument. I believe the strings at the bridge end are "sympathehic" strings that are not played but "resonate". It creates a beauiful sound. Maybe you'll explain how this works.

Fond regards, and well done, Benny.

    Donald.

  • Hey Donald, Great to hear from you man! How is your finger picking coming along? I found you online at the beginning of the year somewhen, you were pictured playing in some folk group. Looking good... You must keep in touch and send my good wishes to Mairi

  • @Bennytet
