The record-breaking snowfalls have not been a problem for this Philadelphia Zoo orangutan family! Throughout all the storms, they have been safe and warm inside, with good food, enrichment toys to play with, and each other.
@1FutureMarine1 Thank you for your comment. They are indeed a happy family. This is one of the many wonderful things about zoos. They can provide animals with experiences they would never have in the wild. And, as you can see here, most of the time they love having opportunities to live in ways that are different than their counterparts in the wild live.

This is just so amazing. It's also amazing because orangutans are solitary animals, males mate, then go back into the trees, then the female raises the child on her own, and yet they look like a family.
