UMvC3 is definitely extremely fun to play and hype as hell to watch, but KOF XIII is just a solid fighting game. I've never felt like I just lost to complete BS (Oh, I got hit by a full-screen beam XFC to another full-screen beam/Oh, he hit my poke with an ultra for 50%) As far as fighting games go, Marvel is fun, but deeply, deeply flawed in terms of how well it rewards players for exploring more nuanced facets of the game. (Hurr durr, who needs combos when I can just TAC?)

@dragonruler978 one last thing. you said KOF was slow paced compared to today's fighting games? which games are you looking at? UMVC 3 is the only fast paced fighting game out right now. everything else is either normal (KOF, Blazblue) or "slow" ( Street Fighter IV).

@dragonruler978 In KOF the person who displays more skill will win. I'm not saying that it doesn't take skills to play marvel, but its much easier to play at a high level in marvel than it is in games like Blazblue , KOF and Street Fighter. Marvel is definitely a fun game to play but best fighting game of the year? not by a long shot IMO. Fighting games shouldn't contain the amount of bullshit that's in that game. (comeback mechanics as easy as X factor and terrible character balance.)

That doesn't even add up because twilight has nowhere near the number of viewers harry potter does. Trust me, you're the twilight fan screaming about how great twilight is and Im the harry potter fan. The # of views prove it.

Plus KoF is what you play if you're bad at MVC. "Ohhh MVC is too fast paced! I can't keep up! I know! I'll play a shitty slow fighting game instead!"
