The production on Dressed to Kill kills the 1st 2 records and sounds so fresh yet 37 yrs later! The band is so tight and Ace is awesome!

@KIDAmnesiacBends Yep that's right. Although 'Electric Ladyland' was the name of Hendrix's album released in '68 which was recorded at Olympic Studios, London & Record Plant Studios, NY. The costs were so high that Jimi wanted to build his own studio - he had bought the Generation Club in Greenwich Village with his manager Michael Jeffery. Scrapping plans to reopen it, they decided to turn it into a recording studio -hence Electric Lady Studios. Jimi died weeks after it opened.

@nagaslrac completely agree, i listened to this song in its entirety for the first time this morning, and when the solo came along i immediately knew it was similar to another band's song...took awhile for it to click that it was The Doors...had to look it up on Youtube to see if people were talking about it, and turns out you are, so good job haha if you didnt make this post i was going to

Ace's solo, on this, reminds me of Robbie Krieger's on Five to One.
I think the first 8 bars are identical. Maybe it's a common lick. Dunno. I'm not a musician.

was this recorded in Hendrix's electric ladyland studio?
-
@iluvj50 i can see the resemblance but just think of it as Jimi was an influence

I dig it. The main riff sure sounds like "Foxy Lady," though...
Killer tune....
