Leroy Ostransky's Poem and Dance performed by the Grinnell College Saxophone sextet at the 2007 Winter concert Dec 9, 2007. Apologies for poor recording quality.

  • The six of us didn't get the fast part.... Probably because we didn't work on it that much..... It's a hard piece... Especially since we're sophomores in high school... xD

  • That sounds good.

    well done

  • my sister plays alto sax. :)

  • lead alto needs to watch his intonation on that high concert F sharp and concert G

  • I noticed some of the mistakes myself. Don't want to sound to forward but these kids should check out some of my vids for a lesson in correct technique.

    And keep practicing~!

  • I played this in an ensemble my senior year of high school... love this piece :)

  • there is a rallentando at 4:17 also some gaks from the first alto but other than that good.

  • Amazing!

  • Yeah the composer didn't mean for the parts to be as loud as two people, but this is a six part song, I know because I played it last year in highschool. It is a pretty sweet sextet, nice job to this group of guys.

  • it sounded nice but was there really 6 parts? Bad thing about doubling parts is the composer didn't mean for that part to be as loud as 2 people.

    Sounds good though.
