  • My mouth is watering. Yummy! How come there's no baking powder in this recipe?

  • You know, I can't tell you why there's no baking powder. This is my grandmothers recipe which she got from her mother. My grandmother is no longer with us, but her pound cake will last forever. If I can get any info I'll post it.

  • @AuroraBorealis2011 This is a very stupid comment, she does not look fake, I also own a KitchenAid and many people do also, why? Because we can afford them. If you cannot afford one, well, that is no body's problem but yours. So stop making stupid comments like this one, you jealous, poor, stupid person.

  • Are you promoting Kitchen Aid? LOL You're kinda fake ya know :)

  • i loved the video the cake looks delicious reminds me of my grandmothers

  • Quick question...is there some reason you used a whisk instead of the flat beater?

  • I must comment again! This recipe is absolutely awesome! It would be a miracle if a slice was left over from the following day. Thanks again. :)

  • thanks for the recipe!

  • I bake all my cakes on a cookie sheet, lol

  • Pound cake originated in Europe a couple of hundred years ago. It was a heady time in baking as egg foams ruled the roost. Beating air into the eggs is why the cake rises. Because of having a tradition of raising cakes this way, European taste buds often find the addition of baking soda/powder to taste odd and chemicalicky. If you are going to bake a pound cake without a leavening agent, then you must beat the sugar, butter, and eggs a great deal. Be light handed in adding the four though.

  • Hey, my maiden name is Hester!
