She didn't get fired because she had bronchitus... That isn't a valid reason to fire anyone. They company felt her singing was wonderful, but her acting wasn't there.

She was the best sounding Annie since Andrea McArdle. I saw the Barbara Walters special on the Annie casting and actually was excited about seeing her in the production, but she got fired before it opened on Broadway. Then I heard Brittany Kissinger sing and thought she was just awful. They should never have fired Joanna. What an amazing voice at that age.

She is incredible... but I would actually see myself casting Brittny Kissinger between the two. I know that Pacitti won the role in a contest. I'm just saying if both of them made the final round in an all out audition, I'd have picked Kissinger myself. Pacitti is amazing, too!

I read a book by the dog trainer for Annie, Bill Berloni, and he felt so bad about Joanna being fired that he gave her the dog that played Sandy :)

She got sick really bad and the directors thought she had poor acting skills. They should've thought about her acting skills before they hired her!
