What's a merc?

@Linkzcap It's short for a "Mercury Dime" which was the design of dime used by the United States between 1916 and 1945. Thanks for watching!

Awesome video, and an awesome hobby. Something I can definitely see myself getting into! I actually got a 1934 quarter in some change about a year ago, and I realized it was silver because it resonates differently when I flick it off my thumb. Im curious about what "mint marks" are, that you mentioned.

@Biker790 Thanks for watching! Mint marks show up on the reverse of most silver coins as tiny letters and indicate the mint that the coin was stamped at. Common mintmarks are P for Philadelphia, D for Denver, S for San Francisco, etc. Some dates with certain mint marks are worth a lot more to collectors than others so I always check to see if a coin has a mark.

Good vid ! great finds ! I found two rosies ,one is 1956 and one 1967. Are they silver? If yes than it' s cool since I live in Québec. Thanks !

@grossebobette Thank you for watching! The 1956 is definitely 90% silver but the 1967 is a clad dime so mostly copper with some nickel. I've found a few silver Canadian dimes here in Wisconsin. A 1912, 1913 and 1957!
