Well said, blakshadow5. I also don't use A/C much, keep the tires inflated to just under their max psi rating, and don't leave the car idling long in our driveway or in parking lots. Anyone that doesn't believe me is welcome to check my EcoDrive files, downloaded regularly from the car to the computer. Over 9,000 or so miles with EcoDrive, our overall average fuel economy is 44.5.

Come driving with me sometime - you'll see I drive WELL, not painfully slow as you suggest. Just driving the car in a manner that I would consider normal...to me (same as I'd drive any of our other cars/trucks. I don't need A/C, I don't need to win stoplight races, I don't need to cruise at 80mph on the highway. With the wonderful roads we have around here, the car is well in its element and driven and enjoyed as is it's purpose.

@Aaronf187 yes but you have not style, just an ulgy econobox!

@cargueone1971 you don't need to drive slow to get good gas mileage as shown by his average speed, which is pretty high, it's all about being intelligent on how you use your gas. Accelerating slower, switching to a high gear as soon as you hit cruising speed. Shifting into a high gear and not using gas during downhills, and being easy on the throttle on downhills.
Of course you need a manual, but if you're a really good driver then the little things add up into big gas savings.

@Aaronf187 46 overall is not possible...Maybe a 92 Civic VX, but no Civic sedan can...
By the way My Fiat 5oo only does 32...This guy must drive painfully slow which defeats the purpose of the car
How do you drive, to get that kind of mileage? I drive it the recommended way from EcoDrive and I still only get 6.7l/100km or 35.11 MPG

@iceache
See below for specifics, but basically, I simply drive it well. Not slow, not hard, not annoying other drivers - just smart. I actually had a friend that said his 500 Prima wasn't getting the mileage mine was; so I drove it and was able to get 48mpg with his car; he was only able to get high 30s with it. Showed him a few things that I do when I drive (a "driving efficiency lesson"?) and he now gets mid-40s as well.

Do you run it on Premium or Regular?

@TheCubeIsIn
Regular, 87 octane. Only exception is that I do run premium (92/93 octane) when towing our 1970 Fiat 500 on a small, single-axle aluminum trailer.
