@Tapiola2007 "Richly" deserved? Don't shmear his memory with poor word choice.
-
@test123ok I've got some bad news...
-
@BorisHorvatable We will have these videos, his books, and our memories forever. In that way he will be no more silenced than he was while he was alive. That probably sounds awful and hackneyed but Hitchens really inspired a new assertiveness and iconoclasm that will be irreversible.

What a sad day, a great voice for reason and humanism is silenced forever.
-
Darwinist religious service in action!
-
Can't wait to see Hitchens in Melbourne 2012.

My Hero.

Well done, Hitch! A richly deserved award. I hope you'll be fit enough to accept many more to come!

@icedbannanas I imagine the greater number of applause breaks he receives is primarily because he is quite clearly dying. Idolisation is a bit much, i'd call it sympathy, it's difficult watching one of your intellectual and moral hero's decline.

i love hitchens, followed him for a great many years, but this absolute idolasition from the audience is a bit much for me, clapping at every instant, standing ovation...it seems some of those have also put to rest their inquisitive faculties and accept everything Mr Hitchens says. He's a great man, but lets remember that he is just that, a man with great ideas, opinions and an amazing knack for wonderful rhetoric
Christopher Hitchens is my hero.
