I learned this one from David Schnaufer's CD Dulcimer Session, and after a bit of practice this is what came out of it. I am tuned up D-A-dd.

You can find the tab for this song at

Thanks!

  • Very cool, but the links for the tab isn't working. I'm glad you slowed this one down, because I couldn't get the strumming part. You're actually strumming the same note more than once?

  • I'll see if I can get a working link up some time. Yeah, most of the time I am strumming the same note a couple times.

  • HI! Your videos are super cool, but do you have any tips on music books/dvds to learn how to play as a beginner etc 'cause I just bought a Dulcimer and have to learn to play from scratch (I play a little piano and guitar already)

  • Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it, I think the best thing that I ever got as to learning dulcimer would be David Schnaufer's video, Learning the Mountain dulcimer, very very good. Good luck!

  • I'm excited to try to learn this song, this is all new to me! any tips on strumming? I seem to get tangled with my pick when I try strumming up stroke. Fingering is easier for me than strumming! Your dulcimer has a wonderful full sound, what style and make is it? Looking forward to more videos.

  • I'm sure you will do great in learning this song! Right now, I'd just do what ever is the easiest way to strum, and work on making it fancier later on. My dulcimer is made by a builder up in Tennessee named Tom Yocky. Glad you liked the video!
