How to use Gmail to send and receive emails from multiple email accounts.

Step 1: In the gmail acct you are going to use as your primary acct go to "Accounts & Import" under "Settings" and select "send mail from another address". Follow instructions from there.

Step 2: In your other email address configure to forward all email to your primary gmail acct.

Repeat steps 1 & 2 for all email addresses you want to add to your primary gmail acct.

Now you have 1 place where you can manage, send and receive all your emails from multiple email addresses.

Step 3: Search
This makes it easy to now search thru all your emails in the search bar. Some of the advanced search terms I frequently use are:

from:email@address.com keyword
from:email@address.com has:attachment
to:email@address.com keyword

  • @RandyHew Is it just me who finds that replying to an email sent to a domain address inside gmail means that gmail defaults to sending the reply to your domain address rather than the sender?! Grrrr

  • @Grigostewart If I understand correctly you want gmail to automatically send from the same domain you received the email from, right? If so that's in your mail settings select "Reply from the same address the message was sent to". That took me a little while to find as well...

  • does it work with yahoo? ... if i have emails mostly what system do you recommend.

    thank you!,

  • how to send many emails at once?

    like noob@ex.com; exlaska@cc.com; or how?

  • @RandyHew Hey Randy, I have had send and receive enabled for a while...the problem was, I was using an old hotmail to test send / receives on a new domain and doing so causes a reply loop where gmail always replys to your own address...not helped by having hotmail forward to my gmail! :)

  • very good

  • I have to agree! Excellent video! Thank you very much!

I'd be excited to see more Tech/IT videos (e.g. gmail, browser add-ons, password manager, e-mail clients, delicious bookmark sync...)

  • Excellent tutorial--- please do more!
