I wrote this when my child was first diagnosed with autism, and recorded it not long afterward. It has taken me some time to build up the courage to put this on YouTube for others to hear. I hope that it will resonate with other parents' experiences.

  • i feel you. thanks for sharing your feelings through music. it may not help our autistic children, but parents and caregivers need a different kind of help, and writing songs like this is certainly therapeutic in a way.

  • Alex, thanks for sharing your song. So glad you found the courage to release your story to words and melody and share it with the world...can be quite cathartic!

Avduo hit it on the head...a definite Cat Stevens sound in there!

  • tks for sharing this with me i added it to my autism playlist....its a beautiful song and like all the rest it makes me cry to think and wonder what our kids are going through I always wonder if there is more I could do to help my son than what I have done for him already....

  • Hey, thanks for sharing. Good song, i know how it feels. Hopefully we'll have some some success and find a way to get through.

  • Thanks for sharing this very familiar sentiment. Well done! You are not alone as you know. You and your family will be in my prayers. I have come to know that things happen for a reason. That doesn't mean we have to like them but we have to make the best of all we have. My son is 19 now and it still seems surreal. I know how you feel. Headed to Dr. again this morning. Thank you so much again!!!!!!! GOD BLESS

  • Thank you for sharing!

  • Thank you for sharing this lovely song with me. And I love the "cat stevens" feel to it. Well done :))
