Autism - a parent's song - Teach You to Find Your Own Way

I wrote this when my child was first diagnosed with autism, and recorded it not long afterward. It has taken me some time to build up the courage to put this on YouTube for others to hear. I hope that it will resonate with other parents' experiences.

i feel you. thanks for sharing your feelings through music. it may not help our autistic children, but parents and caregivers need a different kind of help, and writing songs like this is certainly therapeutic in a way.

Thanks for sharing this very familiar sentiment. Well done! You are not alone as you know. You and your family will be in my prayers. I have come to know that things happen for a reason. That doesn't mean we have to like them but we have to make the best of all we have. My son is 19 now and it still seems surreal. I know how you feel. Headed to Dr. again this morning.
