Airport Security Policy Change

This video is on the TSA (Transportation Security Administration) policy change which basically states that the Turban (Sikh head covering) must be checked even when an individual goes through the metal detector and does not beep. Their logic is that they believe a nonmetallic explosive maybe contained within the turban, but they do not check the rest of the body nor anybody else. The turban is also the ONLY religious article of faith listed in the policy along with cowboy hats and berets. This is clear religious profiling because they are singling out one specific group. If the nonmetallic explosive could be contained in the turban then why could it not be contained in the rest of the body? The Sikhs are asking that this search be done randomly among ALL people - just not the Sikhs. This policy change creates a security issue for all American people, as it is using all its resources for one specific group, while leaving the rest of society unmonitored for this threat.

How are we supposed to know a person is truly a Sikh and not someone pretending to be one? I have to take off my shoes and walk on the filthy floors at airports, and no one from my race or religion was responsible for 9-11 or any other recent terror attacks either.

It is not about making exception for Sikhs, so they don't have to go through the same procedures as everyone else. It is quite the opposite - Sikhs are asking that the same random screening which is occurring with everyone else should be occurring with the Sikhs as well.

Sikhs are being asked, but not the rest of America Sikhs will take off their turban or do a pat down if it is RANDOM for ALL Americans or if they beeped. Why shouldn't it be the same for everyone?
