  • Sounds like Vince was going to have Flair beat Hogan, and Hogan didnt like that so he pulled a creative control move. Funny, Flair doesnt have a problem droppiing the belt to anybody who deserves it but Hogan will not leave a ring without a belt....sorry Punk, I mean Title.

  • Flair and Hogan wrestled house shows in 91. I was at their Oakland match and it was sold out. I think the WWE should of done a better job with their program. They shouldn't of had them wrestle so early. They should of built up the anticipation and had the Wrestlemania dream match. It would of worked. And they still could of worked in Warrior's return by having him save Hogan from a Flair/Perfect double team.

  • FLAIR WASN'T READY BROTHERJACKDUDE.

  • @btthepunk exactly first thing I thought, the video title is designed to pull in viewers, while the content is pretty much 'meh'. what a joke

  • @spaldoni1 Agreed. Hogan was about to leave to do a movie from what I remember and also he wanted to disassociate himself from the product after the scandals in that period but ith that leave he had to lose to flair at Mania 8 which he was unwilling to do.

  • No doubt, Hulk vs. Flair during the prime of their careers would have been epic because it was right before everyone became cynical about in-ring work. You can say what you want about Hogan, but he knew how to sell and tell a story. Same with Flair. This match in '92 would have been huge if given the proper build up. But that's why the WWF tanked until 1997 or so. They just kept going in the wrong direction. Thank God for Austin or who knows if wrestling would have ever come back.

  • That Wrestlemania made Macho Man a main eventer again, the 2 years prior his career dropped to mid card status, and this made him back as a front runner, I am sure Vince thought about that as well, kinda dumb that the title match was way early in the show and the non title match with hogan was the last but meh.

  • Probably what Vince didn't want was every wrestlemania ending with a hulk-up followed by Hogan parading around with the belt.

  • The main evented several tv taping arena shows, but they were never aired. I saw them in Daytona when Flair was wearing the Tag Title that had to be distorted because the WCW took their belt back. Can't recall how great a match it was, but I can say the crowd was totally into it, and it should have been the Mania main event.

  • God in heaven, that is one awful photo of Hogan and Flair.

  • The match at MSG? 1991?

  • @bertotaker They had a good match at SuperBrawl 1999.

  • WTF... Hogan and Flair had several encounters in the WWF at live events and tag matches... just that the matches sucked so bad they changed things up

  • @Clegend24 yeah no shit

  • well.......they got a decent match at Bash at the beach 1994

  • @peterp21 Flair not being a homegrown WWF guy.........enough said bro!

  • Yeah they did in 1991 the WWF they had a whole bog promo

  • screw that...we wanna know why hogan AUSTIN never happened........at least i do

  • Well he went on the wrestle him in wcw for the world title so I guess it was about the same.

  • They are not the ones who sell out the event, different people were there to see different people, lawls!

  • I gotta find the link but in another wrestlers shoot interview it was said that no one could agree on a finish to the match so it never happened at WM. Wouldn't surprise me if egos got in the way.

  • Um, he DID wrestle him at MSG!!

  • @SimonMinisterofChaos Wow maybe my memory is hazy. I could of sworn it sold out. I remember i saw them wrestle again in Oakland a few years later with WCW and that drew just a few thousand at best. I was able to get 2nd row tickets. What were some of your favorite matches you saw at the Coliseum? The first card I saw live was in 84, Andre the Giant won a battle royal.

  • I read that it was because the WWF wanted to hide Hogan after the whole steroid business

  • @Filmaker25 at house shows

  • Hulk HoganDID wrestle flair. I'm pretty sure he did.

  • @dakliq420 Why should Hogan start telling the truth about ANYTHING now?
