After 18 months of political uncertainty, Lebanon has a new leader. Michel Sleiman has been sworn in as the new president.

Lebanese hope they can now look forward to a better future than the bloodshed of the past.

Yet there are a number of unresolved issues, including that of the weapons of Hezbollah, the relationship with Syria and the next commander of the Lebanese Army.

Inside story analyses whether the conflict has moved from the streets of Lebanon to the Parliament, and what exactly lies ahead for Lebanon.

  • lebanon is not a muslim country. It was Christians and muslims who made lebanon what it has become today, starting from 1925 when Lebanon was formed.

If lebanese who live abroad are allowed to vote (which the new president is planning on allowing) we will not be "minorities".

BTW now we are not minorities now anyway.

  • lebanon is not a muslim country..get your facts straight and educate your ignorance

  • allah yehme ra2isna jdid allah yehme sayed hassan

  • Well fuck the zionist and fuck Hezbollah. They killed Sunnis and Christians in Lebanon, for what???? For power? How can you kill your own citizen for power. I love Shia, Sunni and Christians for the are all Lebanese, but hate Hezbollah for the killings!!!!

  • i don't really know why the f... are u giving "points" about Lebanon.

Christians in Lebanon have survived centuries of massacres and war, since 600 AD, and we are still here.

NO one was and will ever be able to abolish us, whether they like it or not.

  • "It was" huh?

  • Israel is still in Palestine, and just anexed more land and built more settlements. Also, it is obvious that Israel has a blood debt with the Lebanese. The only reason their out is because of Hizbullah! This is the only way Israel learns to stay out of peoples habitats. With a neighbor like Israel you need to defend yourself, and Hizbullah is the arm that will protect Lebanon.
