Yes, you are correct they were bought brand new. Infact, Sri Lankan was the first in Asia to fly A340s. By the time I travelled they probably were about 2 years old. Thanks!

Good old memories!!!! i remember when i first flew Air Lanka in 1995 from CMB to Al-Khobar (now DMM) and 6 or 7 times in Air Lanka after that...man...those were the days...!! awesomely beautiful girls in cabin staff and i was just 7 years.. sad sad, that its not anymore...!!
