Same thing happened to me, I called a septic service and they pumped it out. Only took 5 minutes to pump it and dump 10 gallons of soapy water and now it's as clean as a whistle.

@bfenti With a plugged sewer tank I use a stiff 5 foot piece of 1 inch black hose. Look under unit to see which way the tank outlet is facing. Hold open your toilet value and poke the hose down the toilet where you recon the tank outlet is. Cross your fingers and work it back and forth. My clogging was caused by leaving the black water valve always open ( a big no-no). Now I close all other valves and open the black only to flush then rinse the line with the gray water.

Had this happen with a clogged front gally holding tank on my trailer. Was all set to saw pipes apart but went to WallMart and bought a sewer cap with a hose connection and hooket it up to city water. Closed all valves but the clogged one and turned on the water for 15 seconds. This presurized the pipes and blew the obstruction back and solved my problem. This is dangerous because you may blow up your tank, so be careful. PS. The back pressure shot water up the sink so put a towel in the sink.

I wonder if parking the RV upwards on a slope or hill would help prevent the sewage from draining? Maybe that way he might be able to snake the drain or push the possible clog back into the holding tank?
