@559avatar it's about a nubian princess who gets captured and taken to Egypt where she's made into the pharaoh's daughter's maid. she ends up falling in love with the general who captured her who is the pharaoh's daughter's fiance. It's a really good story.

They should forget the film and just release a dvd version of the original broadway cast using great footage like this. Then we can see truly great actors up close. It's awkward to be within two inches of someone else's face and singing at the top of your lungs, but they do it and make us believe in the power of the story.
